Anchors Aweigh Tour: Bach’s Birthday Celebration!

The Anchors Aweigh Music Tour (AAMT) would not be a music tour without music. In March, we have a special opportunity to celebrate one of history's greatest musicians, Johann Sebastian Bach. He was born on March 21, 1685, according to the Julian calendar, though some also recognize March 31, 1685, which corresponds to the Gregorian calendar. Due to the calendar transition during his lifetime, both dates are valid. Here at the Naval Academy, we are fortunate to have world-class musician Monte Maxwell as the Chapel Organist. Monte will perform a special, all-Bach organ concert in the Brigade Chapel at 12:30 PM on March 31st to celebrate Bach’s 340th birthday. The concert is free and open to the public. The AAMT will conclude at the Chapel when the concert begins. Come take the AAMT and learn how the family name Zimmermann is connected to J.S. Bach.
