Founded in 1845, the U.S. Naval Academy is one of the most selective schools in the country. It was recently rated by U.S. News & World Report as the top public school in America, and has an acceptance rate of around eight to ten percent. Of those who attend, approximately 88% will make it to Commissioning Day.

Visitor Center
John Paul Jones' Crypt. Dahlgren Hall. The waterfront. Midshipmen spend four years getting to know the Yard, but you can feel the military spirit and history in just a few hours. Let our Visitor Center's knowledgeable guides give you the locals’ perspective with a public or private tour. You can also explore the Yard on your own by getting handy and comprehensive information from the Visitor Center information desk.
