    Anchors Aweigh Music Tour

    Take In the Rich Musical History of the USNA

    The Anchors Aweigh Music Tour gives you the opportunity to learn all about the U.S. Naval Academy's rich musical history from Retired Master Chief Dave Hanner. This is the perfect tour for any USNA history buff, music lover, or anyone in between! The tour unveils the history behind USNA's beloved "Anchors Aweigh" song, as well as the fascinating and often unknown history of Charles Zimmerman. This summer only, you will have the option to attend a free summer recital at the Zimmerman Bandstand with talented Navy musicians.

    Tour Availability

     

    Tours are approximately 90 minutes long, beginning at the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center Theater and ending with a musical-themed walking tour at the Main Chapel. After the tour is completed, you will have the opportunity to take in a free summer recital from the U.S. Naval Academy Band beginning at 12:30 pm in the Zimmerman Bandstand, or in the Chapel depending on weather conditions!
